It serves surrounding communities such as Dunstable, Luton, Leighton Buzzard, Hemel Hempstead, and Stevenage, focusing on residential and dementia care for older adults. The dedicated and highly trained staff are well-equipped to manage various care requirements, including stroke recovery, diabetes management, incontinence support, hearing impairments, frailty, heart conditions, and vision problems. This inviting residence features elegant en-suite bedrooms, some of which offer views of charming gardens. Each room at Thorn Springs is furnished with fitted furniture, call bells, a mini fridge, Wi-Fi access, a telephone point, and a flat-screen TV. Residents are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms by bringing small items from home to create a more familiar atmosphere.

Thorn Springs provides shared spaces such as tastefully decorated lounges and dining areas, a cinema room, a vintage tearoom, a bright, airy garden room, a panoramic sky bar, a hair salon, and a beautifully landscaped garden and patio with flowerbeds and seating areas for residents to enjoy nature - all collaboratively cared for by the residents. The design emphasises accessibility, incorporating wheelchair-friendly features throughout the home, including a lift and specialised assisted baths in the bathrooms.

At Thorn Springs, our dedicated culinary team prepares fresh meals for residents, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Residents can choose to dine in communal areas or in their own rooms. We provide set mealtimes, serving three meals each day, alongside a mid-morning snack and afternoon tea. We also invite residents to take part in menu planning and regularly seek their preferences. Our skilled chef team caters to all dietary requirements.

The Lifestyle Manager conducts regular Social Committee Meetings to ensure the weekly events calendar includes presentations, demonstrations, and performances from local artists, such as dancers, magicians, and singers. Residents engage in a variety of activities, including gardening, baking, singing, quizzes, and arts and crafts. Additionally, we organise routine trips to nearby attractions like cafes, garden centres, and parks, and facilitate community events for residents, their families, friends, and neighbours within the home.

At Thorn Springs Care Home, each resident has a comprehensive electronic care plan tailored to their health, personal requirements, and care needs. Residents can access local GP services and medication management. Our team will accompany and transport residents to medical appointments as needed.
