Bowes House care home in Hailsham blends old and new – it incorporates part of the old Lynn brewery buildings, dating from 1887 – but step inside and you’ll discover how this beautiful, purpose-built care home embodies the very latest and best in care for older people.
We provide a wide range of services to cater for different needs, from short respite stays, through to full time nursing and residential care. We are also highly experienced in delivering care for people with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Our carers undertake special experiential dementia training, developed by our own in-house experts, and this gives us real insight into what life is like for people living with this condition.
Bowes House has been designed to enhance residents’ lives in lots of different ways, particularly those residents who are living with dementia. Bowes House is divided up into different suites, and each suite has its own lounge and dining room. This creates a ‘community within a community’, which is particularly helpful and calming for residents who are living with dementia.
Each of the 90 bedrooms has an en-suite wet room, flat-screen television, adjustable profile bed and a 24-hour nurse call system, plus phone and internet connection points. All of our ground floor bedrooms open directly onto patios in our courtyard or garden.
Outside there are herbal, sensory and butterfly gardens as well as an internal courtyard. There’s plenty of seating to relax and spend time with friends and family on warmer days. All parts of the home and gardens are fully accessible to wheelchair users.
