Meadowlands

Meadowlands is a well-designed care home situated in the tranquil area of Aberdare in South Wales. We specialise in providing long-term nursing care for individuals with dementia, aged 65 and older. Through strong partnerships with the Rhondda Cynon Taff Health Board, Meadowlands has adopted the 'Butterfly' person-centred model of care. This approach ensures that our ethos at Meadowlands is to create a homely and therapeutic living environment where both residents and staff can live in harmony.

Our welcoming care home fosters a family home feel and features 47 tastefully decorated bedrooms, each equipped with a call bell, Wi-Fi, a TV point, and furniture. We encourage residents at Meadowlands to bring some of their personal belongings and small furnishings from home to help them settle into their new surroundings.

At Meadowlands, we offer a variety of spacious communal areas where residents can relax, enjoy meals, and engage in activities. These areas include 5 lounges, 2 dining rooms and a hair salon. Our residents especially enjoy spending time in our large landscaped gardens and patio. Additionally, all areas of the care home are wheelchair accessible.

One highlight of life at Meadowlands is our vibrant activities program, coordinated by our enthusiastic Wellbeing Coordinator. With engaging activities like quizzes, baking sessions, and gardening, there’s always something fun to join. We partner with local community groups, entertainers, and volunteers to provide enriching experiences and companionship for our residents.

Mealtimes hold a special place in our daily routine. Our exceptional culinary team prepares three nutritious meals daily, complemented by a mid-morning snack and afternoon tea, all crafted using locally sourced, fresh, seasonal ingredients whenever possible. We adore celebrating special occasions, such as birthdays, and our talented chefs never fail to impress with their delicious spreads and delectable cakes.
