Ty Porth is a homely, purpose-built, 81-bedroom care home in Porth, with views over the Welsh valleys, offering high standards of residential, nursing and dementia care.

At our care home in Porth, we offer a full activities calendar to suit all tastes and abilities. From dances for keeping active to cooking, painting and music sessions to keep the creative juices flowing, there are lots on offer for residents to get involved with and activities are tailored to meet individual needs. We also offer planned trips out with the support of the Oomph! minibus.

Moreover, at our care home in Rhondda Cynon Taf, we also have outdoor spaces, which offer views of the stunning Welsh valleys that surround the home. Residents can relax and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air or participate in a spot of gardening in preparation for our annual Hallmark in Bloom competition, where we pitch our homes’ gardens against each other! This is something that residents greatly enjoy with activities ranging from painting flowerpots and making garden mobiles, to potting plants. For those that prefer to take part in gardening from the comfort of their own room, we can bring the garden to them with activities such as potting and hanging baskets indoors.

Before coming to live at our care home in Porth, every resident completes ‘About Me’, a booklet that gives us great insight into their history, hobbies, likes and dislikes. For our care team, this is an important first step to building a strong, supportive relationship, essential to delivering bespoke, high-quality relationship-centred care. It also helps us plan the sorts of activities that will make living at Ty Porth more interesting and enjoyable.
