Orchard Mews

Orchard Mews is a thoughtfully designed care home located in the popular area of Benwell. We specialise in providing nursing and residential dementia care for individuals aged 65 and older. Our skilled staff are equipped to support a variety of care needs, including those related to strokes, diabetes, hearing loss, heart disease, frailty, vision impairment, and incontinence. Whether you require convalescent, post-operative, ongoing support, or short-term respite care, we are dedicated to assisting you and your family.

Step inside our inviting care home and discover 38 beautifully decorated bedrooms, each thoughtfully equipped with en-suite facilities, a call bell, Wi-Fi, a TV point, and comfortable furniture. Some bedrooms even open directly to our lovely garden! We wholeheartedly encourage residents to bring personal belongings and cherished furnishings from home, making their transition to our care home feel as seamless and comforting as possible.

At Orchard Mews, we offer a variety of spacious communal areas where residents can relax, enjoy meals, and engage in activities. These areas include lounges, a dining room, a hair salon, a bar, a café, and a games room. Our residents particularly enjoy spending time in our beautiful courtyard gardens, which feature a sensory area, and some even participate in maintaining the garden and flowerbeds. Additionally, all areas of the care home are wheelchair accessible.

Our Wellbeing Coordinators organise meetings for the Social Committee and maintain a weekly events calendar that features clubs, discussions, and local talent performances. Residents can participate in activities such as gardening, baking, singing, quizzes, and arts and crafts. We also host community events, like coffee mornings, for residents and their families. Furthermore, we provide a minibus for day trips to nearby attractions, including garden centres, cafés, and parks.

At Orchard Mews, our culinary team prepares fresh meals using locally sourced ingredients. Residents can choose to dine in communal areas or in their rooms, with three meals provided daily, along with a mid-morning snack and afternoon tea. We encourage resident involvement in menu planning and accommodate all dietary needs and preferences.
