Elmside care home in the picturesque old market town of Hitchin offers 69 places for residential and dementia care in a safe and welcoming environment.
Person-centred care is provided by our dedicated team who are on hand 24/7 to meet the needs of our residents. All members of the team have been trained in dementia care to ensure that they understand their care needs and how to fulfil them at a high standard.
Elmside Care Home has both single bedrooms and specialist care suites for couples to enable them to continue living together. We encourage residents to decorate their rooms and bring their own furniture after it has of course been health and safety assessed.
Residents enjoy a varied, optional activity programme which includes arts and crafts, armchair exercises, themed events, gardening and quizzes. The landscaped gardens and patio areas are perfect places to relax.
The plot of land that Elmside Care Home is built on was sold to MHA by the local Moss family, well-known in Hitchin for their grocery stores. The Moss family home was replaced by a completely new two-storey building, together with an adjacent retirement living with care community, Archers Court Retirement Living apartments.
