Jasmine Court Independent Hospital

Jasmine Court Independent Hospital is a purpose-built facility in Waltham Abbey, Essex, providing high-quality care and treatment for men aged 18 and over. The hospital has capacity for 15 patients, each with their own single en-suite bedroom, and accepts both detained and non-detained individuals under the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, or on an informal basis.

We specialise in supporting patients with neurodegenerative disorders, physical health co-morbidities, cognitive impairments, enduring mental health illnesses and behaviours that challenge. The average length of stay is 12–18 months, with care pathways tailored to meet individual needs and recovery goals.

Our ward is designed to encourage comfort and independence, with spacious shared lounges, dining areas, and a large activities room for both group and individual sessions. The hospital also benefits from its own secure garden, where patients can engage in therapeutic horticultural activities, as well as easy access to local amenities to support rehabilitation and community integration.

A multi-disciplinary team works closely with patients, families and community agencies to create effective treatment plans. Alongside occupational therapy, art psychotherapy, music therapy and Oomph! on-demand activities, patients at Jasmine Court also benefit from pet therapy, which supports emotional wellbeing, social interaction and the development of self-care skills.

Jasmine Court works in partnership with NHS services, including North Middlesex University Hospital, to provide safe, compassionate and specialist care. Each patient’s pathway follows a structured process from admission to treatment, through to discharge planning, ensuring continuity of care and the best possible outcomes.
