Westwood House Nursing Home

Westwood House is situated in a quiet, peaceful spot that has a friendly and warm atmosphere. We love to invite our resident’s relatives in as much as possible who love to help volunteer with excursions. We even have a relative who runs a popular gentlemen's club which our residents are able to join in and watch sports, playing cards and dominoes every month.

Here at Westwood House, along with longer stays, we can also provide respite stays that can be pre-bookable. We support residential, nursing, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health care, respite, and palliative care needs.

At Westwood House, our activities team is exceptional at ensuring everyone is involved, knowing every resident is unique and enjoys different things. Therefore, our team ensures there is an activity for everyone to enjoy. Here at Westwood House, we are always finding new ways to enrich and fulfil our resident’s lives which are highlighted in our recent care inspection report which was rated good in every area for our home and team. Along with our fabulous chef who makes heart homemade food for our residents to enjoy.

We have a lovely landscaped garden that is home to many birds, lots of plants, and raised beds which our residents can help to maintain and plant, and is very popular for summer gatherings. We also have people from local church groups come to visit the home who carry out regular services, including a monthly mass. We have a mobile hairdresser and a lady who comes to the home each week to the home to pamper our residents with massages and reflexology. This helps keep our elderly residents moving and active which we as a home feel is very important. We also enjoy a lovely visit from Princess, a small pony, who is a big hit with our residents.

As well as our wonderful activities in the home, we have activities outside the home, such as shopping in East Kilbride and going to the local cinemas. We also have lovely parks, cafes situated nearby in the old town as well as our home dog ‘Chalkie’ who needs lots of attention. Our more mobile residents assist our team by taking him out on walks.

Our weekly costs start from £950 but greatly depend upon the extent of the individual's care requirements which will be determined by a Care Assessment carried out by our Home Manager.
