Strathtay House

Strathtay House is a welcoming, purpose-designed care home situated in a residential area of Perth, next to the River Tay. Our well-trained staff specialises in offering long-term and short-term care for older individuals with various support needs, encompassing residential care and care for residents with dementia. We provide tailored services to meet specific requirements arising from conditions such as strokes, diabetes, incontinence, hearing and vision impairments, frailty, and heart disease.

Each 40 comfortably furnished en-suite room at Strathtay House is equipped with a call bell, a TV point, and Wi-Fi. Some rooms also enjoy a delightful view of the gardens and the surrounding landscape. Residents are encouraged to bring small furniture and personal items to help foster a homelike environment. They can also customise their rooms with decorations, such as hanging photo frames of family and friends on the walls. We additionally allow residents to have their cherished pets, with prior arrangement.

At Strathtay House, we provide many wheelchair-accessible communal spaces, including three lounges, two dining areas that serve tasty meals, a hair salon, and a kitchenette. Our beautiful courtyard garden and patio are favourites among our residents, providing a perfect setting for visits with friends and family on sunny days. We also often host community events outdoors during the summer, with some of our green-thumbed residents enjoying aiding our gardener with watering the flowerbeds and planting in the garden.

Our Wellbeing Coordinator arranges a wide range of activities at Strathtay House. Activities frequently include baking, arts and crafts, visits from local community organisations, and music sessions, ensuring there is always something engaging to do!

Mealtimes are highly valued at Strathtay House, and our culinary team puts in heroic effort to prepare healthy meals that meet the dietary requirements of our residents. They offer three meals daily, a mid-morning snack, and afternoon tea each day. We enjoy involving residents in the menu planning and appreciate special requests.
