Priory Gardens

Priory Gardens is a lovely care home in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, specialising in residential and nursing care for older individuals. We provide support for various needs, including dementia, strokes, diabetes, and more, with both long-term and short-term options available.

Our inviting care home has 71 beautifully decorated bedrooms, each equipped with a call bell, Wi-Fi, a TV connection, and furniture. Most bedrooms feature en-suite facilities and offer a lovely view of the garden. We encourage residents at Priory Gardens to bring personal belongings and small pieces of furniture from home to help them adjust to their new surroundings.

We are currently undergoing a refurbishment program to enhance and revitalise various areas of Priory Gardens, improving our ability to serve our residents and creating a more comfortable atmosphere. We offer beautifully designed communal spaces, including five cosy sitting areas, four bright dining rooms, a sensory room, a hairdressing salon, a kitchenette for refreshments, a shop for luxury items, a café, and a quiet room for relaxation. Our residents enjoy family time in our large enclosed garden and patio, and some participate in gardening. All areas are fully wheelchair accessible.

Our activities program, orchestrated by our dedicated Wellbeing Coordinator, is vibrant and full of life. We rotate diverse activities, including stimulating quizzes, delightful baking sessions, and therapeutic gardening. We often invite local community groups, talented performers, and enthusiastic volunteers to enrich the lives of our residents through shared experiences and companionship.

Mealtimes are a vital part of the day at Priory Gardens. Our talented culinary team prepares three nutritious meals daily, including a mid-morning snack and afternoon tea. Whenever possible, we use fresh, locally sourced seasonal ingredients. We also love celebrating special occasions, such as birthdays, and our chefs will always impress with delicious spreads and cakes!
