Pitcairn Lodge Nursing Home

Pitcairn Lodge Nursing Home in Westhill, Aberdeenshire supports residents with residential, nursing, dementia, respite and palliative care. We are surrounded by wonderful woodland in a quiet, rural location.

At Pitcairn Lodge, we have not one by two gardens! One of the gardens is for our residents who have more complex nursing needs whilst the other is for our dementia suite. Our gardens are hugely appreciated by our residents and they love watching the wildlife and listening to the bird songs. In the summer months, we enjoy relaxing in the gardens and inviting relatives for afternoon teas. We have sensory planting areas, a lovely mural featuring a loch surrounded by poppies to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and even a bus stop which was donated by the local council.

Our talented team of chefs cook up a range of traditional Scottish dishes for residents including haggis, neeps and Aberdeen’s famous haddock. We ensure that all dietary requirements are met including dairy intolerant, gluten-free and vegetarian. At Pitcairn Lodge, we regularly ask for residents feedback on the menu and take any suggestions on board.

We have a varied, exciting activities schedule at Pitcairn Lodge including visits from pre-school from the nearby playgroup as part of ‘The Intergenerational Program’, bingo, flower arranging and arts & crafts.

At Pitcairn Lodge, our costs are dependant upon the length of visit needed and the care requirements for the individual needing support. We may be able to support clients who are funded by their Local Authority and this can be discussed with our Care Manager. We can support a wide range of care requirements including dementia care, end of life care and respite care.
