Castleman House

Castleman House is a purpose-built residential care home for older people, located in the Georgian market town of Blandford Forum, Dorset. Castleman House provides residential, dementia, and respite care tailored to the individual requirements of our residents. Lying just a five-minute walk from the town centre, the home is within easy reach of local shops, amenities, and transport services, making it convenient for residents and visiting family and friends who are most welcome at any time.

Set within peaceful private gardens, Castleman House is a single-storey care home offering a comfortable and accessible living environment. All accommodation and facilities are located on the ground floor, with friendly, well-trained and experienced staff available 24 hours a day. Castleman House received an overall rating of ‘Good’ from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in March 2025.

The home provides accommodation for up to 48 residents and is arranged into five separate cottages: four with ten bedrooms and one with eight. Each cottage has its own communal lounge, dining area and kitchen, helping to create smaller, welcoming living spaces within the wider care home community.

Bedrooms are spacious and comfortably furnished, with many benefiting from private en-suite shower facilities. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with treasured belongings, photographs and decorative items to create familiar surroundings. Each bedroom also includes a TV connection point and nurse call system, while Wi-Fi is available throughout the home.

Communal areas at Castleman House are fully wheelchair accessible and designed to provide comfortable spaces where residents can relax, socialise and spend time together. The secluded gardens also provide additional areas to enjoy the surroundings.

Residents are supported to maintain their interests and enjoy an active social calendar, with activities planned around individual preferences. The home also values its links with the local Blandford community, providing further opportunities for residents to stay connected.
