The Laurels

The Laurels is a caring place for residents to call home. The purpose-built home situated within a mile of Winsford town centre offers residential, respite and day care in a supportive and comfortable environment. We have two specialist households for those living with dementia, located in dedicated wings of the home. Each of our households caters for 10-12 residents.

We have a wide range of facilities at The Laurels including several attractive lounge areas. One of which has a hearing loop that improves sound reception and aids those with hearing difficulties. We also have a spacious dining room and a number of kitchenettes where residents can prepare light snacks or meals.

Outdoors, we have large garden areas all of which are wheelchair accessible. We have a summer house, greenhouse and vegetable patch which our green-fingered residents enjoy tending to.

All of our residents have their own single bedroom, some with en-suite facilities. We encourage our residents to choose how they would like their rooms decorated and they are welcome to bring their own furniture pieces, photos and other mementoes to help them settle in.

Activities at The Laurels are varied and frequent, enabling residents to take advantage of facilities within the home, as well as interact with the local community. Common in house activities includes arts and crafts, card games, bingo, sing-alongs, manicures, quizzes, a monthly social evening, a monthly bring and buy sale and regular visits from the local library. The Laurels encourage animals into the home and are part of the Pets As Therapy scheme, enjoying regular visits from our dog, Molly.
