Summerhill is a lovely care home in Kendal, Cumbria, dedicated to supporting older individuals with various needs. Summerhill offers 71 elegantly furnished en-suite bedrooms, prioritising resident comfort with features like call bells, TV points, and Wi-Fi. Residents are encouraged to bring small furniture and personal items to create a homely atmosphere, and they can decorate their rooms, including hanging photo frames. Pets are allowed with prior arrangement.

Our wheelchair-accessible communal areas include beautifully decorated lounges, four dining areas with nutritious meals, an activities room, a hair salon, and a kitchenette, as well as wet rooms and a hydrotherapy bath. We are also currently refreshing various areas of the home through a refurbishment program.

Our residents cherish our beautifully landscaped garden and patio. It is an ideal location for hosting visits with friends and family during sunny days, and we often organise community events outdoors throughout the summer months. Some of our green-thumbed residents enjoy helping our gardener with watering and planting in the gardens.

At Summerhill, our Wellbeing Coordinator creates a diverse activities program, inviting residents to share their ideas for the weekly schedule. Activities include quizzes, arts and crafts, community group visits, and music sessions to keep everyone engaged.

Mealtimes are important, with our culinary team preparing nutritious meals that accommodate dietary needs. Residents contribute to menu planning and can make special requests. We also celebrate events like birthdays and anniversaries together.
