Strachan House is a purpose-built home in a residential area of Edinburgh near Craigcrook Castle. It provides 24-hour nursing care to older people. Public transport links are good and there are shops nearby. The home is set in well-maintained, landscaped gardens. There is a dedicated Memory Lane Community for people living with dementia.
At Strachan House we pride ourselves on the quality of the care we provide, the standards of hospitality on offer and the wide range of activities and social contacts we promote.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are the cornerstone of daily life at Strachan House. We place importance on protecting residents meal-times as good nutrition and hydration are key to staying well. Our daily menu always offers a choice of at least 2 dishes for each meal time and individual dietary requirements are always catered for. Family members of residents are very welcome to ‘book-in’ and join us for a meal.
Before becoming a resident at Strachan House Care Home our Management Team will have met the prospective resident and conducted a Care Needs Assessment. This initial assessment allows the Care Home Manager to put a full Care Plan in place and order any special equipment ahead of the resident moving into the home.
