Balclutha Court

Balclutha Court is situated in Greenock, just outside of Glasgow. Providing nursing care to a maximum of 83 people with a range of healthcare conditions, including Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson’s, Muscular Dystrophy, Huntington’s and Motor Neurone Disease to name but a few. We have a total of 77 single rooms and 3 shared rooms for couples wishing to stay together.

Our residents with nursing needs are supported with 24-hour care from trained Nurses and Care Assistants. All of our residents have their own personalised care plan which is developed with the support of relevant healthcare professionals, family members and the resident themselves. Whether you have permanent nursing needs or are in need of a respite stay, Balclutha Court should be able to support you.

As well as supporting people with nursing needs we also provide specialist support for people with dementia. Dementia care is provided within our Memory Lane Community, the interior of which is designed to be dementia-friendly. Colour and lighting are used to help people with dementia navigate their way through the home. We aim to support our residents with dementia to preserve life skills and retain a sense of purpose.

Residents of Balclutha Court not only have their own bedroom complete with an en-suite bathroom but also full access to communal areas of the home. Shared areas of the home include landscaped gardens, activity room, quiet lounge, tv lounge and dining room. Well-behaved pets are also very welcome to become new residents at the home!

The home benefits from a full and varied activities programme and visits from various community groups. As well as having an on-site hairdresser we also have visits from weekly Chiropodists and Physiotherapists. We are very lucky to have a Head Chef leading a team of kitchen staff to create delicious home-cooked meals for the residents.

Weekly fees at Balclutha Court are dependent on care needs assessment; to find out an indicative cost please give us a call to go through your care requirements. If you have been awarded Continuing Health Care (CHC) funding, again please give us a call to discuss how we can support you. We are able to support individuals with both permanent and respite care requirements, to find out our current availability to support then please get in touch. We provide specialist dementia care within our Memory Lane Community, helping individuals with dementia to live well. Balclutha Court supports individuals with end-of-life care needs both through our in-house nursing team & visits from specialist nurses, GPs and relevant healthcare professionals.
