Lime Tree House Celebrated Another 100th Milestone Birthday!

On Tuesday 20th of April, Mrs Betty Riley celebrated her 100th birthday at Lime Tree House, Ringmer, with her closest family to celebrate this milestone occasion!

It was a truly international event with Betty’s daughter, who lives in Italy, joining the celebration through a video link. Betty’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who live worldwide, also sent their birthday wishes in a specially produced birthday movie.

Residents and staff at Lime Tree House had a wonderful time raising a glass of champagne to celebrate Betty’s milestone birthday. Eunice, one of our residents who turned 103 years old just a week before, welcomed Betty to the Centenaries Club. We are very proud to say that we have quite a few centenaries residents here at Lime Tree House.

Group Manager Tracey Austin said, “Turning 100 is such a special occasion, and Betty was very much looking forward to celebrating this birthday with family and friends. We worked inclusively with her close family and the care team to ensure that the celebration would occur in a Covid-safe area, following all the government guidelines. It filled our hearts with joy seeing Mrs Riley enjoying her special day!”

The Home Manager, Julie McPhater, asked, "What is the secret to reaching this amazing milestone?". “Keeping busy and drink plenty of cups of tea with no sugar is the main ingredient” agreed both Betty and Eunice.
