Encombe

Encombe provides short-term respite care breaks for up to 8 adults ages 18-65 and 65+ and up to two children (age 16-18 years) who have learning disabilities and may have additional complex needs. This could include physical disabilities, dementia, complex health needs, complex behaviour and autism. This facility is registered as a Care Home with the CQC (Care Quality Commission).

Encombe, Encompass' Respite Care Facility, comprises of 8 single bedrooms and 1 self-contained flat (no kitchen), with a separate lounge and dining room. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and there are also separate toilet and washing facilities provided on both floors of the house. A lift allows free access to both floors. To the rear of the house is a pleasant courtyard, accessed by ramps, which is regularly used for a variety of recreational and leisure pursuits.

The service is available throughout the year on a planned but flexible basis for people with a learning disability who live in the Dorset area. Stays may be arranged from an occasional overnight to regular planned breaks. Private self-funded referrals are also accepted following assessment of support needs to ensure all requirements can be met.
