Douglas Court Care Home is located on Douglas Street, close to Derby city centre and within easy reach of shops, amenities and transport services. Our facilities include a fully accessible patio with outdoor seating, a conservatory, a sensory garden, raised planters and an aviary so all residents can enjoy the changing seasons, a spot of light gardening or bird song.

Bedrooms are en suite with individual phone and television points and residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with cherished possessions. Small items of furniture can be accommodated provided they meet health and safety regulations. Several ground-floor rooms have direct garden access with their own patio table and chairs. Small, well-behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangements.

Daily activities are planned to take into account the interests of our residents. If you’ve been a keen baker, table tennis champion, gardener, or artist all your life our care staff will be on hand to support you. Events include pet therapy sessions, live entertainment, day trips to places of interest and local outings within the community. Families and friends can also join in with our daily activities.

Our home specialises in fresh, seasonal, tasty food offering plenty of choices and catering for all dietary and cultural requirements. Our chefs offer lighter meals and snacks throughout the day including speciality teas, coffee, flavoured water, fruit juices, and homemade cakes.

Our care team prioritises high-quality care alongside physical and mental well-being by helping our clients maintain their independence and lifestyle. We hold regular monthly meetings where residents can give their feedback and suggestions on everything from meals, activities, and the home.
