Iwould like to introduce you to our beautiful home Whim Hall. Whim Hall is an 18th Century Manor House that was built by the Duke of Argyll and, is set amidst 20 acres of striking country woodland in the Scottish Borders. You will find that the grounds surrounding Whim Hall reflect the ambiance which you would expect from country life. The gardens have various seated areas for residents and their relatives to sit, relax and enjoy the vibrant colours, smells and sounds which surround them. The Care Home has 2 separate units. Tweed Unit is purpose built and meets the needs of 22 frail elderly residents with Dementia and Whim which is a residential unit.
This historic setting has been specially adapted to provide dedicated specialist care which is delivered to a high standard. The staff at Whim Hall are committed to delivering care which is tailored to each individual residents needs and, because we actively meet the individual needs of each of our residents they are able to exercise choice in determining the pattern of their lives. Staff are suitably trained and kept up to date with current practices.
Whim Hall is dedicated in helping to improve the environment, its self sufficiency status and meaningful activities for the residents – we have recently introduced a re-cycle bin, chickens and an allotment for growing vegetables. The introduction of themed corridors and “doll therapy” aids with the sensory stimulation of those residents in Tweed Unit, with the focus of Whim Unit being its self contained flats to help residents develop their own life skills in a safe, secure and sociable environment.
Please do give us a ring to organise coming to see Whim Hall and to meet our Home Manager. We would be delighted to spend time finding out about yours or your loved ones care needs and share information on the care we provide.

The elderly and frail are especially vulnerable to the COVID-19 virus, care providers are putting in place a range of measures to deal with the situation and safeguard those who use their services.
Care homes have mostly cancelled all but essential visits to the home. They are providing telephone-based assessments and placing controls on admissions. Home care & live-in care providers are still delivering care in the community but have a huge demand for support at this time.
