Parklands Care Home

Parklands is a 40-bed purpose-built care home located in the chummy village of Poynton. The home is ideally situated close to local amenities including the Civic Centre and local churches. We offer a kind, supportive environment for our residents and ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Throughout the home, comfortable lounge areas can be found, one of which has a hearing loop which is a discreet device designed to improve sound reception and aid those with hearing difficulties. We encourage our residents to use the shared areas which are great for socialising with fellow residents. For residents who wish to smoke, the designated smoking area is at the rear of the building in the garden area.

Activities at Parklands are arranged by the activities coordinator with the involvement of the care teams. These are designed to match residents’ interests and include a range of amusements, such as bingo, quizzes, reminiscence, in-house afternoon tea, entertainers, poetry reading and big-screen cinema, fundraisers; raffles and tombolas. Residents also enjoy visits from a volunteer who comes in once a week to read and chat with them. We have great links with the local community and students from one of the high schools visit once a week in term time to play games and chat with residents.

Additional services on offer to residents include a hairdresser who visits once or twice a week and newspaper and magazine deliveries arranged through a local newsagent. Both are charged on a weekly basis as used.
