La Fontana

La Fontana Dementia Nursing Home can be found on the outskirts of Martock, surrounded by beautiful Somerset countryside it is an innovative purpose-built dementia nursing home. Much like all our homes, La Fontana has considered everything someone living with dementia might need to make life as good as it can be. The home is also suitable for individuals requiring general nursing care.

We have seven thoughtfully designed suites to enhance the life of someone living with dementia. Each benefiting from spacious communal areas, large skylight windows allow natural light to pour in, warming our days and lightening any mood. The suites each have their own kitchenette, meaning drinks and snacks are available at any time of the day and we encourage residents to welcome friends and family into the home to enjoy socialising in our relaxing space.

A favourite at La Fontana with residents and the local community of Martock and a feature in several Notaro homes is our petting farm, home to Rabbits, Ducks, Reptiles and other small animals and our adorable Alpaca’s. Our farms are particularly popular as they provide residents the perfect opportunity to feel involved as they contribute to caring for the animals.

Explore the window displays of our hardware store, get stuck into our chocolate maker, window shop in our minimarket and antique shop. Sun seekers can head off to the beach in our scenic sunroom, and sit and enjoy an ice cream from our cart and relax alongside the colourful beach huts with a seaside panorama. The room has a sunlight stimulation lamp, which can help trigger happy memories, a sense of well-being and variety of potential health benefits.
