Kingfisher Care Home based in North Shields cares for residents with residential, nursing, dementia, respite and palliative care requirements. The building has been purpose-built to meet the increased needs of our residents. We are located nearby to the picturesque Tynemouth seaside and historic landmarks such as Tynemouth Priory and Castle.

We are fortunate to be located within a residential neighbourhood with close links to the local community. Our residents absolutely love receiving visits from local school children and entertainers.

Kingfisher has 50 en-suite bedrooms along with a variety of shared relaxation spaces such as comfortable lounges, dining rooms and family bistro facilities. Furthermore, outside the home with have wrap-around gardens are thoroughly appreciated by residents in the summer months.

We encourage our residents to partake in the daily activities programme at Kingfisher. Activities are tailored to the interests of our residents as well as trying to offer them something new. If you’ve been a keen cook or gardener all your life we see no reason for this to change and our care staff will be on hand to support you. For residents who are bed-bound, one to one activities is provided in their own rooms.
