At Bearwood House, a warm and welcoming environment is always enjoyed by our residents. Our attentive staff are on hand night and day, delivering expert individual support to those who have dementia or just require residential care. We pride ourselves on our open and friendly atmosphere and welcome families who wish to visit their loved ones.

Leaving home for long-term residential care is never an easy process. However, our dedicated and compassionate staff will do everything they can to make anybody feel comfortable and happy in their new home. We want occupants to enjoy their time with us, and we recognise the need for independence, privacy and dignity. Our holistic approach and key worker system ensures that whatever an individual’s needs or aspirations are, these can be met unobtrusively, whilst helping to maximise their quality of life.

We have a dedicated Activity Coordinator that will sit with you to get to know what your interests and hobbies are to ensure meaningful activities are person-centred.

We have a separate independent 1 or 2-bedroomed Annex that can support Learning disabilities or suit a couple/siblings. Learning disabilities will be supported to We can provide care and support no matter how much or how little. We believe in promoting independence. This can be adapted to meet their needs. The fees are variable depending on the level of care needs. It has a wet room, kitchen area as well as 2 bedrooms. The Annex is set within the grounds of Bearwood House. Giving you 24-hour support and assistance when required and the added security of knowing that you can call on someone anytime night or day.

We support adults aged 18-65 who have Autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. Bearwood House work with Multi-Disciplinary Teams, designed according to individual needs and wishes. We provide specialist training for the staff at Bearwood House including Person Centred Thinking, behaviour management, speech, signs and symbols and sensory awareness, to provide the best possible support for all individuals.

We work with other community health services including GP's, psychiatrists, the community learning disability team, occupational therapists and physiotherapists, to provide holistic support for everyone.

All individuals are encouraged to be involved in their Person Centred Plans and risk assessments. "Your Voice" is important which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive.
