Furzehatt Residential and Nursing Home in Plymstock, Plymouth can provide residential, nursing, dementia, respite and palliative care to residents. Our range of care services means that we can support our residents as their care needs progress.

We provide a brilliant range of activities at Furzehatt as well as welcoming groups from our local community into the home. We often welcome The Plymouth Tea Dance who perform the Cha Cha Cha and Lindy Hop for our residents and children from Plymouth Dance who love to teach the residents moves they can do in their armchairs.

At Furzehatt, we have regular visits from guinea pigs, hamsters and lizards. Not only this, we have our own cat called Mario who the residents love to pieces. We have recently started our own choir and enjoy singing along to On a Bicycle Built for Two and Bring Me Sunshine. Residents play a big part in the running of our home and even form part of the interview panel when we’re recruiting for new staff.

Our Furzehatt home is the only care home to be part of the Plymouth Dementia Action Alliance (PDAA). In the summer, Japanese ambassadors joined us so that they could take ideas for best practices relating to dementia care back in Japan. We are also the only dual-registered residential and nursing home in Plymstock and the wider area.

Furzehatt weekly fee starts at £807 per week but will depend upon the complexity of the individual's care requirements. We may be able to accept residents who are funded by their local authority but this will need to be discussed with our Home Manager. As well as long-term care, we can also support people who are looking for short-term care and who require end of life care.
