Happy 100th Birthday to youuuuu!
Published on 10th May 2018
How would you mark one hundred years on this earth? With cake of course! Mrs Vicky Aldridge celebrated her 100th birthday this week with her nearest and dearest around her.
Mrs Aldridge is a resident of Mountwood Care Home, the care home put on a party in honour of the occasion for all home residents and Vicky’s friends and family.
Vicky is the eldest of four siblings – Rene, 97, Grace, 96 and younger brother Ted, 90. It is quite remarkable that all 4 siblings have made it to their nineties, we hope that they will be the first set of siblings to all celebrate their 100th birthday!
Vicky received a card from The Queen in honour of the occasion but this was not the first correspondence she has received from our much-loved monarch. Vicky became Mrs Aldridge when she was 21, marrying her sweetheart Norman Aldridge; the couple received a telegram from The Queen when they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Vicky has two children and her daughter Gill said:
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Mountwood for organising the lovely party for my Mum. The staff have taken excellent care of her over the past three years, and she had a great time celebrating with us all today.”
Mountwood Care Home is part of Larchwood Care who operate a large group of residential and nursing services across the length and breadth of the UK.
