Red Brick House

Red Brick House Care Home is situated in the village of Prudhoe, about 10 miles west of Newcastle and close to the picturesque Northumberland countryside.

We care for up to fifty people, in a highly professional, compassionate and welcoming environment that caters for all the needs of our residents. What’s more, we treat them with respect, and we know how important it is for them to retain their dignity. We also recognise that they each have individual needs. We work hard to keep our standards high, but we also try to create an informal atmosphere, where we can all relax and enjoy a laugh. That’s important for our residents, and for us!

We provide long term care, as well as day and respite care for local residents. Our nursing staff are trained in specialist cancer, stroke and dementia care. In fact, Red Brick House has the only specialised Nursing Dementia unit in West Northumberland.

A critical factor in enabling us to maintain a consistently high quality of care is our minimal staff turnover. We have a highly professional working environment, but at the same time it is relaxed, friendly and supportive of our staff, so we’re not really surprised that people enjoy working here, and don’t feel the need to move on.

We do all we can to keep residents mentally and physically active. To this end, we arrange regular excursions, and we encourage residents who have particular hobbies or interests to continue with them.

Our residents feel safe and well cared for. We know this because they tell us. In fact, if people really want to know what Red Brick House is like, we encourage them to talk to our residents, their families and friends.
