Park House Care Home is situated in a pleasant suburb of Newcastle. It backs onto a small park and is well served by public transport.
We’re always pleased to welcome visitors to Park House. We have an attractive and welcoming reception area, and we make sure that visitors are looked after, and get all the assistance, advice and support they need.
We are very focused on the needs of our residents, and we do our best to enrich their lives. An important part of that is providing stimulating activities to keep them physically and mentally active, to the best of their ability. We have two Activity Co-ordinators, who between them provide a total of 45 hours of activities 7 days a week. That includes such things as bingo, board games, indoor bat and ball, groups knocking balloons around to each other (really popular, that one!), sing-alongs, craft projects and much more. There always seems to be something going on!
We also have outings in the minibus, and where we go and what we do is to a large extent decided by the residents themselves.
One of our residents likes to go for a pint in the pub, where he can meet up with his mates for a natter, and perhaps put a bet on at the bookies afterwards. That’s important for him, he’s keeping in touch. We just make sure that he gets there and back safely.
We have good links with the local community. The library visits regularly, with books and audio books; we have entertainers and also visits from the local church and schools.
