Mayo House

Mayo house is a specialist service which allows people who become easily distressed to live as independently as possible. One of the aims of the home is to help people learn to manage thrie distress more successsfully, become more independent and then move on to less intensive services.

Mayo House aims to provide a safe and emotionally secure environment in which the needs of clients are met. This includes attachments, routines and difficulties with respect to communication and choice-making. We provide a highly individualised service which supports people in lifelong learning and development.

The creation of individual routines and lifestyles is given priority with respect to, for example, times for getting up, meal planning, and choices of activities. Accommodation consists of seven flats with en-suite bathrooms and cooking facilities.

Before becoming a resident at Mayo House our Management Team will have met the prospective resident and conducted a Care Needs Assessment. This initial assessment allows the Care Home Manager to put a full Care Plan in place and order any special equipment ahead of the resident moving into the home.
