Breton Court

Breton Court provides outstanding residential, respite and day care. The Home has a warm and friendly atmosphere, and is set in an acre of landscaped gardens with tranquil duck pond. The 26-bedroom building is a single-story, so residents are free from stairs and lifts.

The Home is in the village of St Michaels. Residents enjoy the peaceful, rural surroundings within easy reach of local shops, church and pub. Tenterden is just 2 miles away, and our own minibus is available for day trips and outings.

We look after our residents in the best way possible, in a warm and friendly home-from-home environment, creating a loving atmosphere to meet the needs of all individuals. We regard each person as unique and special. We recognise everyone’s right to air their views, voice their opinions, and make choices. We also believe they should be informed of their condition, and be given help in understanding how to accept their assessed care needs.

An important part of our philosophy includes the provision of high quality care, with respect for the privacy and dignity of each individual being of the utmost importance. Care plans are created from an assessment of individual needs, ensuring the retention of dignity, whilst offering as much independence as possible.

We encourage our residents to do things for themselves, wherever possible, instead of making them unnecessarily reliant on others. Redecorating their bedrooms, helping to tend our gardens, or making themselves busy in our kitchen are just some of the ways in which our residents are able to express themselves, at the same time giving them the opportunity to feel useful and a part of the community.
