Care Homes in the following locations

All residential care homes in the UK are regulated by independent public bodies of health and social care policy;  England, Scotland and Wales are all regulated by different independent bodies and as such care homes adhere to different compliance rules.

In England, the inspector of care homes is the Care Quality Commission or CQC for short. Established in 2008 from two existing bodies, the role of the CQC is to set the standard to which all residential care homes should be operating and to enforce that standard through regular review and inspection. On each profile of care homes that are based in England, you will find details of their latest CQC inspection and how well they scored.

In Scotland, the inspector of care services is the Care Inspectorate which was established in 2011 by the Scottish Government to regulate all social care services including care homes for people of all ages.

Finally, in Wales the inspector of residential care homes is known as Care Inspectorate Wales, operating in the same way as the above-mentioned. The Care Inspectorate Wales is there to ensure that care homes in the Country operate within the framework that they set.
