19-23 Church Street in Market Warsop is a purpose built service that offers support to ten adults with learning disabilities and complex care needs, including a range of physical care needs and moderate levels of behavioural needs. Additionally, there are two adjoining independent flats that can also accommodate people with complex needs.
Based in Market Warsop, the property has excellent access to community services, such as local shops, a post office, a supermarket, pubs, and places to eat out. There are also health services available in the town. The service is less than three miles from Mansfield. Local leisure facilities include cinemas, bowling centres, sports facilities, art galleries and places of worship.
We believe that every individual has the right to dignity and self-determination to the greatest degree possible, and that they can be supported in expressing themselves. To promote this we use Person Centred Plans, which include the communication needs and preferences of each individual, and create a total communications environment using a wide range of tools, aids and systems. Tailored transition programmes will be designed to reflect the specific needs of each individual.
The environment has been sensitively designed to meet the needs of people with severe physical impairments, such as wheelchair users and those who can display a moderate level of challenging behaviour and may require a low stimulus environment, whilst retaining a warm and homely décor.
There are eight bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. All bedrooms have the option of four-way profiling beds and ceiling-mounted tracking hoists, if necessary. We encourage people to bring their own belongings and to decorate their rooms in the style they prefer.
The shared areas include a dining room, a lounge, a sensory room and a large domestic scale kitchen where service users will be supported to prepare meals and snacks.
