Thank you My Mother lived the last 20 months of her life in Halcyon Days, from October 2011 to July 2012. I cannot thank the staff enough for their care delivered with compassion, understanding and when appropriate the humour that is needed when caring for people suffering with dementia. I never heard my Mother complain once (and she had enough mental faculties left to have been able to and she would have done!). The staff always considered her needs and i never found her unkempt despite the travails that dementia brings to bodily functions. Care for those suffering with dementia should extend beyond the sufferer and all staff were very supportive of me, keeping me informed of incidents appropriately by phone and with a monthly written update. Their caring attitude (that is not evident in some Homes) was strikingly evident on my first visit when looking for somewhere for Mum and it is this that is my enduring memory of her final months which helped ease the pain of having to give up the care of a relative to others. Their end of life management was faultless of Mum and their kindness to both of us will never be forgotten. Thank you to all staff.

Excellent care My Father spent 3 years at Halcyon Days, he had Vascular dementia and died Christmas 2012. The care he recieved was excellent, the staff were kind considerate and they treated him with dignity. As his condition deteriated they were wonderfully caring and supportive of the whole family. The last few months when he became bedbound, they were wonderful turning him regulary and encouraging him to eat and drink. His last Day was special and dignified - Thank you Halcyon Days
