Grassmere Residential Care Home

Do not use!! My nan has been in Grassmere Residential home for a weeks respite. I visited her today and was absolutely disgusted by the way she had been left sitting in wet underwear for god knows how long and wearing someone elses trousers which were 4 sizes too small for her!! This has left my nans stomach, red, sore and itchy. I asked to look at my nans records which the carer was also reluctant to give me and my nan hadn't been having given any fluids for 8-10 hrs at a time during the day. She also has a black, bruised, swollen hand from where she 'had a fall' but know one could tell me how the fall happened. The carer said that the management called both my dad and uncle and told them about the fall, they didn't know a thing about it! The carer was also just about to change my nans underwear and trousers in the middle of the lounge in front of everyone and worst of all the blinds were open! I had to stop this from happening and guided my nan to the bathroom. I honestly could have cried the state she was in. And with dementia, my nan doesn't know any different..... so who knows what else had been happening in the home. We certainly will not be sending her back there at all.
