Felmingham Old Rectory Care Home is a converted period property in a charming setting in the village of Fremlingham in Norfolk, with a local shop and post office close by.
We see ourselves very much as a family here, and we get very positive feedback from relatives and visitors about the warm, friendly and homely atmosphere.
We believe in keeping our residents physically and mentally active as much as possible, and our Activity Co-ordinator has regular exercise and movement sessions. Residents help with the running of the Home, with things like laying tables or helping in the laundry. We have outings in our mini bus, and we also have gardening and baking sessions. In fact, we often have pizza for tea made by the residents!
Our staff are extremely caring and compassionate with the residents. They know them very well, and they know what makes them tick! We like to make them laugh whenever we can, try to help them not to take life too seriously, to have some fun!
We like to stay in touch with the local community. We have visits from local schoolchildren and the church has strong links with us – the vicar’s wife comes in twice a week to spend time with residents and their families. The residents also go to the local shop and have regular walks around the village.
