Edgeley House Care Home

Edgeley House Care Home is situated in Whitchurch, a thriving market town in Shropshire, two miles east of the Welsh border, with pleasant parks, lots of independent shops and good transport links.

Edgeley House sits in its own grounds, with a long drive set in well-maintained and attractive gardens. Our home has recently been refurbished, but has retained the nice homely feel that greets all our visitors.

The people that make up out team are very professional and caring in a very down-to-earth way. They really get to know our residents, and this is made easier because we have open access 24 hours a day for relatives.

We firmly believe in keeping our residents active, mentally and physically, and we have an Activities Co-ordinator who supports staff in this. Residents are encouraged to get involved in day-to-day activities – to do many of the things that they used to do in their own homes, such as folding washing, setting the table, buttering bread, and so on. This helps to give them a sense that this is their home.

Of course, we have other activities, and we have a residents committee which drives us forward in the decisions we make about what the activities will be, and they are very active and vocal in this!

We have trips out when transport is available, bingo sessions, entertainers, visits from local schools, the WRVS, a lady who reads poetry, a gent who brings animals into the home, and more besides!
