Burnham House in Ilford, Essex is an 8 bedded residential service for those with learning disability, autism, physical disabilities and complex needs and is only 9 miles from London.
With a friendly, welcoming encouraging environment, the staff team support individuals with complex behaviours who require dedicated, individualised support and the staff team and individuals are culturally diverse. T
he focus is on encouraging greater independence and individuals are supported in improving daily living skills and being actively involved in activities within the home such as arts and crafts, cookery sessions, BBQs and parties.
The service has good transport links and is close to local amenities including Ilford shopping centre, the large local park and leisure services. It has easy access to rail and underground stations and local buses.
Individuals are supported in engaging with the local community – either with support or on their own. The service also has good links with local churches, day centres and Colleges and some individuals have undertaken training to achieve NVQs in a chosen course. Regular visits from family and friends are actively encouraged.
