Highly Recommended I was always glad that I trusted Burn Brae Lodge to care for my husband. Each resident is known and cared for individually and with immense kindness. There is great freedom for everyone (and their visitors) to wander, sit alone in private or join in with others for companionship & activities. Friendships are made and respected. The setting and beautiful gardens are a source of much happiness but above all there is loving kindness from the staff, plus good food and a sensible order and calmness.

A friendly home full of compassion and loving kindness A homely place with a beautiful view. The staff are always pleasant, kind and ready to help. They manage their sometimes difficult and challenging residents [ many of whom have mental health issues] with exemplary patience and good humour. Their End of Life care is excellent and allows residents to die with dignity and relatives to be comforted. We are deeply grateful to all the staff.

An outstanding care home for the very elderly I cannot rate Burn Brae Lodge too highly. My elderly mother, suffering from short term memory loss, was at all times cared for with love and sympathy. She was always neatly turned out and well fed. She happily interacted with the staff and they with her. Her final days were sympathetically dealt with and we were welcomed at all times of the day and night. I am so very glad we were able to have the security of knowing my mother was happy and well cared for. The staff were wonderful.

Professional, flexible, caring, lovely setting Burn Brae is homely and accommodating. Dad is not always easy but the staff have a marvellous way of managing every situation, calmly, professionally and with good humour. There is a very good ratio of staff to client and they span age and sex to give a good balance. There is always plenty going on for those who wish to and are able to get involved. Dad's room is first class with some of the best views in of that part of the Tyne valley. The gardens and surroundings are also excellent.
