Care Home Review My mother has been at Brampton Lodge for just over two years now. It was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make, even though Mum was not coping at all well on her own. I was reassured by the home that if I let the staff "do their magic" she would be settled and happy within a couple of weeks. Sure enough that is exactly what happened and they are all, bar none, still doing their magic today. ALL staff show a level of caring and compassion second to none and I would not hesitate for one moment in recommending Brampton Lodge for your loved one, as nothing seems to be too much trouble. There are regular activities in the lounge and special events at Easter, Halloween, Bonfire Night and the likes and each resident is treated as an extension of the staff members' families. All this is extremely important to me as I do not live locally but I am confident that my difficult decision has without doubt been the right decision. Lesley Pettigrew - Daughter

Diane I would like to nominate Brampton Lodge for a recommendation because staff are always polite, helpful, and caring. The home runs smoothly and efficiently, and is well managed. Bedrooms are light and well furnished, and the home is very clean. Brampton Lodge is a lovely home to visit, and should be praised for the top quality care and facilities it offers. Chris - Son

Norah Symonds Brampton Lodge is lovely, in the five years my mum was there it always smelt fresh, beautifully warm, a real home from home. The staff on the whole are amazing really caring and compassionate, not only to their residents but also their relatives. I think that's why my mum was so happy there in her last years as she felt they were/had become her extended family. - Sarah Elam - Daughter

Margaret Blockley My mother moved into Brampton Lodge just over 4 years ago. It was a very hard decision for the family to make, but Mum could no longer manage at home and it was unsafe for her to remain in her own home. To make things easier, we told Mum she was going on holiday from Gloucestershire to a luxury guest house in Folkestone, which was close to where I live. From the moment she arrived, and was shown to her room, she never looked back. The staff were always extremely caring, understanding, friendly, supportive and efficient, and Brampton Lodge became a ‘home’, rather than a care home. The whole family were included in Mum’s care and we were always made very welcome. Over time, Mum’s health deteriorated, but the care she was given was outstanding. Eventually she became bedridden, and we never knew from one day to the next whether Mum would still be with us the next day. We had many phone calls to say we had better come quickly as Mum was very ill but she kept surprising us all by rallying round and perking up. Through all these bad times all the management and staff; carers, housekeepers, catering and office staff, were always there for Mum; and for us, and it was very clear that they took great pride in their work and the care they provided. In all the time Mum was bedridden she never once got a bedsore which was testament to the care she was being given. Sadly in November 2012 Mum was again taken ill, and after fighting for 9 days, her body gave up and she died peacefully in her bed at ‘home’. The family were with Mum for the whole of her last 9 days and saw how the staff at Brampton Lodge worked, 24hours a day. They were exemplary in carrying out their duties and responsibilities in a professional but caring manner. Their standards never dropped, whatever time of the day it was, and we will always remember them as wonderful, outstanding staff. Well done Brampton Lodge, we will be forever grateful.

Edna Colyer Once again I must thank you for the last two weeks. It has been most enjoyable. The food has been great and the staff have also been their usual selves, happy, helpful as they go about their daily work. As I always have remarked Care is the keyword for all at Brampton. I do hope I can visit again but for now a really big thank you to all concerned.
