Avon Manor is part of Cobham Care, whose first home, Avon House was one of the first care homes in the area to specialise in Dementia Care. Avon Manor is a large detached Victorian mansion situated in a pleasant and quiet residential area, within easy reach of Worthing town centre and the seafront, with adjacent parking and access to public transport.
We provide a friendly, caring and homely atmosphere, encouraging our residents to lead an active, dignified and independent life. It is our philosophy is that every resident is an individual and care needs are addressed on this basis. Additionally individuals' needs change and therefore need to be continually assessed.
Lisa Moulding is the Registered Manager and has worked at Avon Manor since the mid-1990s. She is qualified to NVQ level 4, has attained the Registered Managers Award (RMA) and has extensive experience in dementia care. We also employ 28 care staff with a range of NVQ qualifications. All are provided with training in first aid, manual handling, understanding dementia, safeguarding vulnerable adults and other relevant subjects.
The home is a large detached Victorian mansion situated in a pleasant and quiet residential area, within easy reach of Worthing town centre and the seafront, with adjacent parking and access to public transport nearby. 28 residents are accommodated in single rooms, on three floors, many with en suite facilities.
Whilst every room is fully furnished, we are pleased to accommodate any personal belongings a resident may wish to bring. A three person lift is capable of taking a wheelchair and care assistant. All living areas are comfortably furnished, with three ground floor lounges, one of which is for those seeking peace and quiet.
Residents generally like to eat in the dining room but may take their meals in their room if they wish.
The registered manager Lisa would be pleased to answer any questions you have, and looks forward to welcoming you for a look around Avon Manor.
