Appleby House, in Epsom, Surrey, is a comfortable and welcoming home which offers a personalised approach to residential care and respite care for older people. We also have specialist expertise in caring for people with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
We enjoy getting to know each resident as an individual and together we create a personal life history book, full of interesting details, photographs and mementoes. We offer a varied range of activities for the residents to take part in, from gardening and photography to lively tea dances. We also arrange frequent outings to places in the local area – such as a nice pub lunch, walking in the local park, a visit to a garden centre or even a relaxing canal boat trip.
We know that it’s the small touches that make somewhere feel like home. Throughout Appleby House you’ll find thoughtful design features that stimulate the senses and help individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia to find their way around and feel at ease.
The thoughtful design touches continue with stimulating sensory objects available throughout the home and colour-coded signs that can help people with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia to find their way around.
Most of our rooms have en-suite facilities and all are equipped with stylish furniture, a television connection point and a 24-hour nurse call system. Many offer attractive views of our courtyard or garden, which features raised flower beds and a vegetable garden.
With plenty of outside seating, our garden is a lovely place for residents to enjoy time with family and visitors. If the weather outside isn’t quite so inviting, then residents can choose from our wide choice of living areas, which include a conservatory, spacious lounges, a quiet room and an activity room.
