The best nursing care available! My mother was a resident of this wonderful nursing home from August 2013 until she passed away in October 2015. The exceptional level of superb care she received from the nursing staff, the truly wonderful care assistants and housekeeping staff put the NHS to shame. My mother was already very frail on admission but the care she received, always with such kindness, meant her last years were very happy ones. My father and I visited most days and we were also always made to feel welcome and the friendship we were shown was truly wonderful. On the days that we were not able to visit I was comfortable in the knowledge that she was being looked after without my having to be there (unlike the NHS hospitals that she had been discharged from). The meals were always tasty and highly nutritious having been freshly prepared with fresh ingredients. The housekeeping standards were of the highest quality as mum's room was cleaned daily. The nursing care that my mother received in her last few weeks of her life meant that she passed away peacefully, without pain or distress. I could not have wished for better care. My mother received NHS CHC funding for her care at Alveston Leys and therefore this can be a wholly objective review. I highly recommend Alveston Leys and all its wonderful staff. About me: I do not give this high praise lightly, I am a tough critic. Nor do I always leave positive reviews (I was appalled by the care my mother received at NHS Warwick Hospital and the NHS Nicol unit in Stratford).

Excellent in every way Excellent care provided in beautiful surroundings. The building is clean and bright and the staff are cheerful, friendly and obviously very competent. There is not the slightest hint of a patronising attitude towards residents and it is never too much trouble to deal with their needs. The food is of a very high quality, with plenty of choice and variety. Well served in delightful surroundings - or in the resident's room if they cannot get to the dining room. Tables are nicely laid with linen cloths and napkins and a printed menu on each table. Guests are made very welcome and the whole experience of visiting is very civilised.
